In September 2025, our reigning Miss International UK, Sophie flew to India for the annual A-Sisterhood Humanitariarin trip. Whilst she was there, she got to visit some of the women’s charities that she has helped through her fundraising for A-Sisterhood.
The first stop in India was Sheroes Hangout – a powerful sanctuary of strength and support for girls and women who have survived acid attacks. The organisation not only provides vitail care, but employment oppurtunities for survivors.
Sophie and the A-Sisterhood team were welcomed with open arms as they met the Sheroes. These remarkable and inspirational women shared their stories, their mission, and the heart of their work, offering our Queen a meaningful and unforgettable experience.
As always, we are truly blown away by how amazing and inspiring these women are in the face of something so devastating, and deeply saddened to learn just how common these attacks continue to be.
Sophie and the A-Sisterhood team, then travelled to Dehli, guided by the Sheroes – they were gifted traditional sarees and dressed by their new friends.
From delivering a keynote at SRCC, to joining a ramp walk with the inspiring Sheroes, to leading empowerment workshops with survivors of acid attacks, Sophie embodied #SDG5 in action every step of the way.
And to top off the trip to Dehli, the team were invited to be part of the pre-launch of the new Sheroes Hangout Café – a stunning rooftop space filled with music, laughter, and the incredible spirit of the women who bring it to life.
The Sheroes clearly touched a soft spot in Sophies hear as she says, “These girls might call themselves ordinary, but their purpose is extraordinary. I’m so proud we could support this project with @asisterhood and cheer them on as they change lives here in India and beyond.”.
Sophie also got the opportunity to travel to one of the worlds most incredible landmarks – the Taj Mahal. The view looks absolutely beautiful but we can’t take our eyes off our girl! 😍 The team also made a trip to the India Gate – a symbol of history, honor and remembrance in the heart of Delhi.
And finally, our Miss International UK, visited Wildlife SOS – conservation non-profit organisation, working to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife in distress. The team witnessed compassion in action, observing the dedicated care given to elephants rescued from suffering across India.
The team learned how these elephants are now able to heal in peace, after being subjected to mistreatment and forced into hard labour. With access to shade, frequent baths, nutritious meals, and essential veterinary care, each animal is finally receiving the rest and dignity it deserves.
Thanks to A-Sisterhood’s donation, they also supported Wildlife SOS’s Tribal Rehabilitation Programme for the Kalandar community, helping thousands of families break free from exploitative traditions. Women within the community are provided with training and seed funding to build sustainable, dignified livelihoods.
Sophie says: “Proud to stand with organisations doing this work and to carry these stories forward as Miss International UK.”
We are so proud to be working alongside A-Sisterhood as part of the Miss International UK pageant, and so excited to say that will be continuing to do so in 2026. The trip is included in the incredible prize package for winning the Miss International UK pageant.
